Barbara Bray is a creative learning strategist at Rethinking Learning, a division of her company, Computer Strategies, LLC. She is a writer, keynoter, instructional designer, futurist, coach, co-author of two books on personalized learning, Make Learning Personal and How to Personalize Learning, and author of her new book, Define Your WHY, to launch in 2020. She is the host of her podcast Conversations on Learning and co-hosts the Twitter chat, #rethink_learning. Barbara works closely with schools and district teams to support the development of innovative personalized, competency-based systems that are globally connected cultures of learning.
Barbara is a teacher, writer, disruptor, risk-taker, instructional designer, connector, and visionary. People call her a “change-maker.” Whenever anyone told Barbara she couldn’t do something, she took it more like a challenge.
Barbara co-authored two books on personalized learning: Make Learning Personal and How to Personalize Learning. She wrote a regular column on professional development for OnCUE (CUE) for over 17 years and continues to blog on this site and writes chapters in books, articles, and as guest posts on other blogs. She works tirelessly to find and research new tools and methods that help educators create learner-centered environments and to find their purpose. Now with multiple opportunities to network using social media and join various online communities, teachers and learners are confused. Barbara makes it her job to determine what is authentic, valid, cost-effective, safe, user-friendly, and relevant for her clients. She is relentlessly researching how to personalize the learning so learners of all ages can develop their passions so they discover their WHY so they can live and learn on purpose.
Dr Will Deyamport III is a District Instructional Technologist for Hattiesburg Public School District, serving grades K-12. He is also a digital transformation strategist, writer, and podcaster. Prior to taking on a full-time instructional technology role, Dr. Will was a social media strategist for a career development company. He is best known for his work in assisting educators in going digital and has helped schools leverage the power of technology to reimagine the learning experiences of their students.
In 2016, Dr. Will was one of three educators selected as a Mississippi Spotlight Speaker at the Mississippi Educator Computing Conference and served as a Schoology Ambassador from 2015 - 2018. Dr. Will speaks and presents often about the effective use of technology in the classroom at conferences throughout the state of Mississippi.
In addition to his speaking, Dr. Will has written for Schoology Exchange, District Administration, EdSurge, iNACOL, and TechEdge magazine. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Radio, TV, and Film and Child and Family Studies from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University.
